The Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) is proud to announce more than 100 recipients of scholarships to support the science, technology and engineering leaders of tomorrow.
Through the Elevate: Boosting diversity in STEM program, scholarship recipients will be supported to pursue degrees in key national priority areas at universities around the country. Elevate has been widely recognised as an exemplar for inclusive, impactful, well-run and well-designed scholarship programs, creating a vast and growing network of impact through the scholars it has supported.
Elevate is an investment in Australia’s future.
Forming a nearly 500-strong cohort of Elevate scholars awarded since the start of the program in 2022, the scholars are diverse, capable and ambitious women and non-binary people ready to forge impactful careers across the innovation sector. They are the software developers, infrastructure builders, battery engineers, medical technologists and environment protectors that Australia needs in the years and decades to come.
ATSE CEO Kylie Walker said that the highly competitive selection process and the successes of current Elevate cohorts highlight the clear demand for the program and the support it offers.
“The 2026 Elevate scholars will play a critical role in Australia’s technological and energy transitions of the coming decades. With an exceptional completion rate that well exceeds national averages, just a few years into the program we are already seeing our diverse and driven scholars reach leadership positions, build professional networks, develop new technologies and much more.
“We are so proud every year to provide the professional development, mentoring, networks, and financial support to set up these highly motivated people to succeed and make a difference – both during their studies, and as they grow their careers as engineers, scientists and technologists.
